Invitation to Pre-Qualify/Tender for Some Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) Projects at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri
The Federal University of Technology, Owerri is desirous of improving its physical infrastructure by the use of its Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
The following projects are listed for this purpose:
Lot 1: Rehabilitation of some Campus roads.
Lot 2: Construction of Students Hostel.
Lot 3: Construction of Administrative Block for the Centre for Women, Gender and Development Studies (CWGDS).
Lot 4: Construction of Staff Housing Units.
Lot 5: Completion of Student Affairs Administrative Block.
Lot 6: Construction of Staff/Students Canteen/Cafeteria.
(B) Pre-Qualification Requirements:
Mandatory Requirements From (i-iv) will be presented for Sighting During Opening:
(i) Evidence of Incorporation with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
(ii) Current Tax Clearance Certificate for the past 3 years.
(iii) Evidence of compliance with PENCOM requirements (with Certificates).
(iv) Evidence of compliance with Industrial Training Fund (ITF) (with Certificates.
(v) Any Contractor who made submission of invalid or fake documents will be seriously sanctioned.
(vi) Post-qualification exercise would be conducted at any point in time during the procurement/ construction period of the project to ascertain the authenticity of contractor’s submission.
(C) Other Requirements:
(i) List of similar and verifiable projects successfully executed by your company with locations, letters of award, completion certificates within the last 5 years.
(ii) Company Resume.
(iii) List and qualifications of staff who will execute the job with copies of Certificates.
(iv) Bank Reference Letter showing evidence of financial capacity to execute the project.
(v) List of equipment needed for the execution of the project with proof of ownership.
(D) Collection of Bid Documents:
Contractors are to collect Bid documents from the Office of the Director, Physical Planning and Development Unit upon the payment of N50,000.00 (Fifty thousand Naira) only to the Cash Office Bursary Department of FUTO and obtain receipt of payment and only pre-qualified companies will have their Financial bids analyzed.
(E) Submission of Pre-Qualification and Financial Bid Documents:
Completed documents, which must be sealed and marked with the title of the project on the top left-hand corner of the envelop should be dropped in the tender box at the Council Matters Unit, Registrar’s Office not later than 12:00 noon, Monday, 28th October, 2013 as it will be opened same day.
(F) Please Note:
(a) The participation in the bid process does not guarantee any person the right to be selected or given any job.
(b) That by the submission of tender documents, the University is neither committed nor obliged to award any contract to any Contractor / Supplier/ Agency.
(c) That this advertisement shall not be misconstrued as commitment on the part of the University nor shall it entitle any Contractor/Firm to make any claims whatsoever and/or seek any indemnity from the University.
(d) The University reserves the right to reject any or all expression of interest and to terminate the selection process at any time without any liability to the University.
(e) Any bid submitted after the closing time and date shall not be considered.
(f) If at any time during the procurement/construction process it is discovered that the submission made by any contractor is invalid/fake, the contractor will be automatically disqualified and the investment made so far in the project will be automatically voided.
