Invitation for Pre-Qualification and Tender for the Execution of Projects Approved under the needs Assessment of Nigeria Public Universities Special Presidential Intervention Phase I and II
- Introduction:
The Management of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University Lapai invites, interested competent and reputable contractors/suppliers registered in the appropriate category, who may wish to make submissions for Pre-qualification and tender for the execution of the underlisted projects approved under the NEEDS Assessment of Nigerian Public Universities Special Presidential Intervention Phase I and II.
- The pre-qualification requirements to be provided by interested contractors are as follows:
(i) Evidence of Incorporation or Registration of Business with the Corporate Affairs Commission.
(ii) Evidence of Company Audited Accounts for three (3) years
(iii) Evidence of Financial capability and Banking support.
(iv) Technical capabilities of the Firm or Company in terms of equipment, staff strength including the profile of the key officers.
(v) Verifiable evidence of similar and other jobs successfully executed with their locations.
(vi) Evidence of Equipment and Technical capacity.
(vii) Annual Turnover
(viii) Evidence of three (3) years Tax clearance.
(ix ) VAT Registration and evidence of past VAT Remittances.
(x) Office Registration.
(xi) Pension Clearance Certificate issued by National Pension Commission.
(xii) Evidence of Compliance with Industrial Training Fund (ITF) contributions requirement.
(xiii) Original documents should be available for sighting on demand during or after opening of prequalification documents.

Lot (i) Construction and Furnishing of 150-seater Twin Theatre
Lot (ii) Construction and Furnishing of Multi-purpose Laboratory complex
Lot (iii) Renovation of Student Hostels
Lot (iv) Renovation of Main University Library (Reroofing work)
Lot (v) Construction and Reticulation of 15m elevated steel water tank of 300,0001itres capacity and drilling of boreholes for water supply to Faculties of Natural Science and Management and Social Sciences.
Lot (vi) Construction and Reticulation of 15m elevated steel water tank of 300,000litres capacity to Student Hostels and New Faculties of Agriculture and Education.
Lot (vii) Completion of Physics Department
Lot (viii) Construction and Installation of Laboratory Work Benches for 4 Nos. Physics Laboratories
Lot (ix) Procurement of office furniture for Physics Department
Lot (x) Supply and Installation of Laboratory Equipment to Geology, Food Science, Agronomy and Science Education Laboratories.
Lot (xi) Construction of a Fence and drilling of Boreholes at the University Demonstration Farm.
Lot (xii) Supply and Installation of Solar power Inverters for power supply to the University Farm.
Lot (xiii) Construction of a Green House, Pen House, Labour Line, Farm Office and a Farm Store at the University Farm.
Lot (xiv) Furnishing of a new Faculty of Agriculture Complex
Lot (xv) Furnishing of Faculty of Education Complex
Lot (xvi) Construction of a 250-seating capacity Lecture Hall
Lot (xvii) Furnishing of a 250-scaling capacity Lecture Hall
Lot (xviii) Construction of Pavilion and Upgrading of facility at the Sports Field.
- Submission of Pre-qualification and Tender Documents:
Completed Pre-qualification and tender documents must he submitted in separate sealed envelopes with the name(s) of the Project(s) for which document are submitted, marked clearly on the envelopes Pre-qualification and tender documents should be addressed and submitted to: The Registrar, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, P.M.B. 11, Niger State not later than the date indicated for the opening of bids in this publication.
- Payment of Non-Refundable Pre-qualification and Tender Fee:
Interested Contractors are expected to present a Hunk draft of non-refundable pre-qualification tender processing fee of Twenty thousand Naira (N20,000.00) only per Lot and tender to the University along with their documents.
- Closing Date for the receipt of Pre-qualification and Tender Documents:
Receipt of Pre-qualification and tender documents shall close on Monday 18th August 2014 at 12.00noon. Pre-qualification documents shall be opened on the same date, Monday 18th August 2014 at 12.30pm in the Senate Chambers, IBB University, Lapai Main Campus Bidders at their representatives are invited to be present at the opening.
- Important Information:
(a) Due Diligence/verification of facts visits, which will be weighted for pre-qualification, shall be undertaken to determine competent contractors to tender for the contract.
(b) Only bidders that have been pre-qualified and found capable of executing the projects will be contacted for the opening of financial bids.
