General Procurement Notice (GPN) for 2014 Capital and Recurrent Projects
1. Introduction
The National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) a Parastatal under the Federal Ministry of Transport (FMOT) with its Headquarters in Lokoja, Kogi State intends to undertake the procurement of various projects for the 2014 Capital and Recurrent Budget. Thus, in compliance with the Public Procurement Act 2007, the Authority hereby puts on alert all interested and reputable Contractors/Suppliers/Consultants with relevant experience for consideration for the execution of the following projects:
- Procurement of Security Patrol Boat and Apparatus;
- Dredging of Imo River;
- Dredging of Gongola River;
- Channelization and Dredging of Iyere River;
- Channelization of Oguta Lake and Excravos Channel;
- Establishment of River Level Gauge Stations on River Niger/Benue and Tributaries;
- Construction of Medium size Jetties;
- Provision of Dockyards and Vessels;
- Clearing of Water Hyacinth (Nationwide);
- Bank Protection on Waterways;
- Maintenance Dredging of Waterways;
- EIA and Post Dredge Studies;
- Consultancy on Dredging and Feasibility Studies (Ports and Jetties);
- Design of Navigational Routes (Lagos Warri, Port-harcourt Bifurcation, Lokoja, Makurdi);
- Insurance of Properties (Ship, Vessels, Facilities, Vehicle etc).
2. The Procurement process of these projects would be subjected to Due Process mechanism and open to all eligible bidders hence subsequently and within the year, Specific Procurement Notices (SPN) for the above listed projects are to be placed on National Dailies, Federal Tenders Journal (FTJ) and the Notice Boards of the Authority (Headquarters and Area Offices) accordingly, depending on the threshold of each project as soon as the relevant solicitation/bidding documents are finalized.
3. Interested eligible bidders who wish to participate in the bidding process of these projects are advised to be on the lookout for further subsequent Notice/Advertisement (Local and National).
4. Please note that the entire documents on Responsive Criteria such as registration with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Value Added Tax (VAT), Pension Commission (PENCOM), Financial Regulatory Council, Tax Certificate etc may be referred to Security Agencies, Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), National Pension Commission (NPC) and other relevant bodies for verification.
5. The Authority also reserves the right to invoke the provisions of section 28 of the Public Procurement Act (PPA) 2007 on matters regarding to these procurements without incurring any Liability to the bidder.
