Invitation for Expressions of Interest to Conduct Studies/Situation Analyses
The TY Danjuma Foundation is a private Nigerian philanthropic grant making organisation that seeks to transform the lives of Nigerians mainly in rural communities. It supports Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and Community Based Organisations (CBOs) to implement projects in the key areas of community health, education and income generation.
The TY Danjuma Foundation’s inaugural 3-year Plan (2010-2012) ended as scheduled in 2012. In June 2013, the Board of Trustees approved the development of a 5-year Strategic Plan for the period 2014-2018. The Plan will set the directions for the Foundation’s funding priorities in the next five years.
The two studies will feed into the strategic plan being developed. The duration of the assignment is four weeks only.
TYDF hereby seeks reputable research organisations/companies or researchers to undertake studies of national situations (analyses) in ONE of the following areas:
1. Education
2. Income generation & livelihoods improvement.
The specific Terms of Reference for this assignment include:
1. A review of the Foundation’s project outputs and outcomes to date in the related programming area of education and income generation respectively.
2. General overview of the situation of; i) education ii) income generation & livelihoods in Nigeria. For the education, the study should respond to the issues of access, quality and student/teacher satisfaction at primary, secondary and tertiary levels (excluding universities), while the income generation & livelihoods study should concentrate on women and youth in rural Nigeria.
3. General and specific recommendations in respect of the Foundation’s programming for the next five (5) years (2014-2018), based on the Foundation’s experience in the last four (4) years (2009-2013).
