Invitation for Pre-Qualification of Contractors and Tenders for the Special Presidential Intervention Projects- (Phase I) on Needs Assessment Report
1.0 Introduction
The Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto intends to execute the underlined I projects approved under the Special Presidential Intervention based on the I University’s NEEDS ASSESSMENT REPORT, and hereby invites reputable and I competent companies to submit their pre-qualification documents for assessment.
2.0 Scope of the Projects
The projects for which pre-qualification of contractors is invited, are as follows:
Lot I: Construction of Students’ Hostels
Lot II: Construction of Lecture Halls
Lot III: Construction of Staff Offices
Lot IV: Construction of Internal Roads
Lot V: Rehabilitation of Students Hostels
Lot VI: Rehabilitation of Lecture Halls
Lot VII: Rehabilitation of Laboratories
Lot VIII: Rehabilitation of Library Buildings
Lot IX: Rehabilitation of Staff Offices
Lot X: Upgrading of Water Supply Facilities
Lot XI: Upgrading of Electrical Power Supply Facilities
Lot XII: Furnishing of Students’ Hostels
Lot XIII: Furnishing of Lecture Halls
Lot XIV: Furnishing of Staff Offices
3.0 Pre-Qualification Requirements
Prospective companies wishing to participate are required to submit their pre-qualification bids containing the underlined documents:
(a) Certified true copy of certificate of registration/incorporation with the Corporate Affairs Commission;
(b) Audited Accounts of the Company for the last three (3)years;
(c) Certified true copy of company’s Tax Clearance Certificates for the last three years;
(d) Evidence of VAT registration;
(e) Evidence of Financial Capability to execute the projects) /Reference letter from a reputable bank;
(f) Evidence of similar and verifiable projects successfully executed by the company indicating location, letters of award and completion certificates in the last five years;
(g) List of major items of equipment possessed by the company;
(h) List of managerial, technical and administrative staff of the company;
(i) Evidence of remittance of staff pension contributions to the appropriate pension custodian/ administrator; and
(j) Evidence of remittance of Training contribution in compliance with ITF Act 2011.
4.0 Submission of Pre-Qualification Documents
The Completed pre-qualification documents must be submitted in separate and sealed envelopes with the name(s) of the project(s) for which documents are submitted, marked clearly on the envelopes.

5.0 Payment of Non-Refundable Pre-Qualification Fees
Interested companies are to pay a non-refundable sum of ten thousand naira (10,000.00) only as Pre- qualification fees per project to the University, when submitting their documents. All payments should be made into the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto Account No 7000024703 at Mainstreet Bank. Evidence of payment must be attached.
6.0 Closing Date for Receipt of Pre-Qualification Documents
Receipt of pre-qualification documents shall close on Monday, 3rd April, 2014 at 12:00noon. Pre-qualification documents shall be opened on the same day (Monday 3rd April, 2014) in the Senate Chambers, Ahmadu Bello House, Main Campus at 12.30pm. Bidders or their representatives are invited to be present at the opening.
7.0 Important Information:
- Failure to comply with the above requirements would automatically result in disqualification.
- The University reserves the right to verify the authenticity of any claim made on the pre-qualification documents submitted by companies
- The University reserves the right to reject any prequalification documents on justified grounds.
- Only companies that have been pre-qualified will be invited to competitively tender for the suitable projects.
