Introduction
The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) is desirous of undertaking a Pre-qualification Exercise for the under listed projects. Consequently, the University wishes to invite reputable Contractors to indicate interest in the Pre-qualification for the projects listed as follows:
(A) 2013 NEEDS ASSESSMENT/TETFUND PROJECTS PHASE I

Pre-Qualification Requirements
To be considered, potential companies are required to submit all the under-listed verifiable documents:
- Evidence of Company registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), and evidence of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in case of a joint Venture.
2. Include CAC registration forms CO2 and CO7 containing names of Directors and Shareholders
3. Certified true copy of Memorandum and Articles of Association of the Company
4. Corporate profile, to include list, CVs, and copies of credentials of Company and technical staff, indicating qualification, year(s) of cognate experience and certificate of registration with relevant professional bodies.
5. Evidence of payment of tax for the last three (3) years (2011-2013), duly stamped
6. Copy of VAT registration and evidence of past VAT remittances for completed projects
7. Current Company’s audited statement of Accounts for the last three years (2011-2013), duly stamped by a Registered Auditor
8. Evidence of compliance with Industrial Training Fund (ITF) Amendment Act, 2011 2004 by inclusion of compliance Certificate from ITF
9. Evidence of compliance with Pension Reform Act, 2004 by inclusion of Clearance Certificate from National Pension Commission (PENCOM)
10. Original Bank Statement for the past Twelve (12) months
11. Bank Reference from reputable banks with evidence of overdraft facilities of at least Thirty Million Naira, and Cash at Bank of at least Thirty Million Naira(N30m) for projects in Table A(l-5), Table B(l), Fifteen Million Naira(N 15m) for projects in Table A(6,7,11,12), Table, B(2-10), Ten Million Naira(N10m) for projects in Table C(l- 3), Table D
(1, 2, 4) Five Million Naira (N5m) for projects in Table A (8-10), Table D (3, 5 -7)
12. Verifiable Evidence of similar Jobs successfully executed, or being executed last Five years, indicating type, cost, location and evidence of award and completion
- List of equipment to be used for the projects, listed as owned, hired or leased, with evidence
14. Company’s registered address, functional contact address, GSM Phone mail addresses
15. Reference letters from Three (3) previous Clients of similar projects, completed
16. Original copies of documents would be requested to be made available for sighting whenever required
17. The University is not bound to award more than one (1) Contract to the same Contractor.
18. A sworn Affidavit, certifying that:
a. The documents submitted for the pre-qualification exercise are not only genuine, but correct
b. The Director(s) seeking for pre-qualification had never been convicted by any court of law
c. The Company is not bankrupt
d. None of the Officers of FUTA is a former or present Director of the Company
Submission of Pre-Qualification Documents
The Pre-qualification documents arranged in the order listed above are to be submitted in two (2) copies, A4 size, paged and neatly bound and sealed in two envelops with the outer envelope marked “SECRET – Pre-qualification for…” (Quote the appropriate project’s name boldly written on the top right hand corner of the envelope) and delivered to: The Registrar, Federal University of Technology, P. M. B. 704, Akure, Ondo State. To reach her not later than Monday 14TH July, 2014 at 12:00 noon

Important Information:
- This Invitation For Pre-Qualification is NOT an invitation to Tender for the Projects
- Failure to comply with the above requirements would automatically result in disqualification
- The University reserves the right to verify the authenticity of any claim made on the pre-qualification document submitted by companies
- The University reserves the right to reject any pre-qualification document and is neither committed nor obliged to give reasons for the rejection of any of the companies responding to this invitation
Only Contractors that have been pre-qualified and found suitable will be invited to competitively tender for projects.
Invitation:
Contractors are hereby requested to indicate their interest in participating in the pre-qualification exercise, following which only qualified contractors will be invited to competitively tender for the projects. Only companies with proven track records on similar works will be qualified to competitively tender for the listed works.
All interested bidders are invited to attend the opening of Pre-Qualification Documents. Meeting scheduled to hold on Monday, 14th July, 2014 in the Prof. T. L Francis Auditorium at 12:00 Noon.
Please Note:
The execution of these projects will depend on the release of funding Organs. FUTA will not be liable if there is any delay in the release of funds.
