Advertisement for Pre-Qualification of Contractors
1.0 Introduction:
The Federal University Wukari in its effort to implement its Approved Special Intervention Projects under the “Needs Assessment of Nigerian Public Universities” hereby invites interested and reputable Contractors to submit Tenders for the purpose of Pre-qualification and Financial Bidding.
1.1 Description and Scope of Works
The project Name is ‘Construction of 750 Seat Seminar Room/Hall”. The project comprises of 750 Seat Seminar Room/Hall with ancillary facilities and public conveniences to be located at the Federal University Wukari, Taraba State. The details and scope of works would be provided in the form of Specifications, Drawings and Un-priced Bill of Quantities to be received by bidders.
2.0 Pre-Qualification Criteria
Interested Contractors are invited to submit the following documents; viz
- Evidence of incorporation of company with the Corporate Affairs Commission,
- Company Audited Account for the last three (3) years,
- Evidence of Current Tax Clearance Certificate,
- Provision of Tax Identification Number (TIN) by Contractor,
- Evidence of compliance with Pension Reform Act.
- Evidence of compliance with ITF Amendment Act 2011
- Evidence of Financial capability and banking support,
- Evidence of similar and verifiable projects executed not just awarded within the last three (3) years and knowledge of the Industry,
- Company’s Annual turnover,
- Evidence of VAT registration.
- Comprehensive Company profile and organizational structure,
- Evidence of availability of necessary equipment,
- Evidence of technical capacity,
- Evidence of Experience / Technical qualification and experience of key personnel to be deployed on the project.
- Sworn Affidavit attesting to the authenticity of information provided and that such information is true in every respect and that the company is not in receivership and none of its Directors has ever been convicted of fraudulent activity.
- Evidence of Payment of non refundable Processing and Tender fee of N50, 000.00 in bank draft in favour of “Federal University Wukari” to the University.
3.0 Verification of Claims:
Please note that Federal University Wukari reserves the right to verify claims made in the Prequalification documents submitted by interested contractors / Suppliers.
4.0 Submission of Tenders
Financial Bid document containing full specifications, Designs and Drawings, un-priced Bill of Quantities (BOQ) will be available for collection as from Monday, 28th April, 2014. These can be obtained at Procurement Unit of the University at Federal University Wukari or University Desk at A-Class Park, Wuse II, Abuja upon presentation of evidence of payment of the prescribed fees.
(a) Two copies of all Prequalification Tender document to be submitted must be in a sealed envelope and marked at the top-right hand corner of envelope “PRE-QUALIFICATION FOR (Project Name)”
(b) One copy of Financial Tender document (Priced Bill of Quantities) to be submitted must be in a sealed envelope and marked at the top-right hand corner of the envelope “FINANCIAL TENDER FOR (Project Name)”;

And drop in Tender’s Box at Administrative Building, Federal University Wukari, Taraba State.
5.0 The submission of this Tender will close by 12.00 noon, 2nd June, 2014 and tenders shall be opened publicly on same date 2nd June, 2014 by 12.00 noon at the Large Lecture hall, Multipurpose building, University Campus in the presence of all interested bidders or their representatives in attendance.
6.0 Members of Civil Societies, Relevant Authorities and General Public are also invited to attend the Opening.
7.0 Only bidders that are prequalified will have their Financial Tenders opened.
Addendum to Advertisement
The Federal University Wukari wishes to draw the attention of the General Public to advertisement published in the Federal Tenders Journal, page 6 Monday, 24th March, 2014 , Leadership Newspaper, page28 of Monday, 17th March, 2014 and The Guardian Newspaper Monday 17th March, 2014 page 72.
The University wishes to inform the General Public that the opening of the bids for all three (3) Projects represented in the three (3) panels/columns of the advertisement as published in the above mentioned Newspapers has been amended as follows:
Postponement of the Bid Opening
The communal crises in Wukari town and environs have resulted in the imposition of a 24 hour curfew and subsequently have affected activities at the Federal University Wukari. Consequently, the closing date for the submission of the Tenders scheduled for 12.00 noon, 28th April, 2014 is hereby postponed and is now scheduled for 12 noon, on Monday, 12th May, 2014.
Tender Submission
Bidders who were unable to submit their bidding documents at the University in Wukari can now drop those off at the A- Class Park, Wuse II, Abuja in the Tender’s Box provided for that purpose.
Closing and opening:
The closing date for the submission of the bid documents is now 12.00 noon, Monday, 12th May, 2014. The submitted Tenders shall be opened publicly on the same day 12th May, 2014 by 12.00 noon prompt.
Please note that non attendance by bidders or their representatives at the opening of the bids shall in no way negatively affect the submission or the outcome of the bid.
Any inconvenience arising from this addendum in respect of the earlier advertisement is hereby regretted, please.
