Invitation for Pre-Qualification for Contractors
Introduction:
The Federal University of Technology Owerri invites competent contractors for prequalification of some projects under the year 2013: Tetfund needs Assessment of CNANU Special Intervention Projects in the University Interested contractors with relevant experience in the construction industries are hereby requested to submit their company for consideration.
Brief Description of Projects
(A) Rehabilitation/Renovation Works
Lot l: Rehabilitation/Renovation of Hostel A
Lot 2: Rehabilitation/Renovation of Hostel B
Lot 3: Rehabilitation/Renovation of Hostel C
Lot 4: Rehabilitation/Renovation of Postgraduate School Lecture Hall
Lot 5: Rehabilitation/Renovation of School of Management Technology Lecture Hall
Lot 6: Rehabilitation/Renovation of School of Science Lecture Hall.
Lot 7: Rehabilitation/Renovation of School of Agriculture and Agriculture and Agricultural Technology Lecture Hall.
Lot 8: Rehabilitation/Renovation of School of Parents/Management Forum Lecture Theatre.
Lot 9: Rehabilitation/Renovation of S00Capacity Lecture Theatre.
Lot 10: Rehabilitation/Renovation of Old Library Building.
(B) Construction of NOEW Facilities
Lot l: Construction and Furnishing of Library Complex.
Lot 2: Construction and Furnishing of 2Nos. Students’ Hostel (Female).
Lot 3: Construction and Furnishing of 2Nos. Students’ Hostel (Male).
Lot 4: Construction and Furnishing of 2Nos. Lecture Theatre and Office complex.
Lot 5: Construction and Furnishing of School Agriculture and Agricultural Technology Dept. Building.
Pre-Qualification Requirements
Mandatory Requirements (Original Documents must be presented for sighting)
a. Evidence of Incorporation with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC)
b. Current Tax Clearance Certificate for the past 3 years i.e. 2011, 2012 & 2013.
c. Evidence of compliance with PENCOM requirements (with certificates).
d. Evidence of compliance with industrial Training Fund (ITF) requirements (with Certificates).
Other Requirements:-
- List of similar and verifiable projects successfully executed by your company with locations, letters of award completion certificates within the last 5 years.
- Company Resume.
- List and qualifications/CV and certificates of your staff who will execute the project.
- Bank reference letter/Bank support showing evidence of financial capacity to execute the contract.
- List of equipment needed for the execution of the project with proof of ownership.
- Evidence of Remittance of Value Added Tax (VAT).
Submission
Your pre-qualification documents must be in sealed envelope and addressed to: The Registrar, Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo State.
The top hand corner shall bear the name of the project for which you are applying for example “Proposed Rehabilitation/Renovation of Hostel A”/ Construction and Furnishing of Library Complex” the documents shall be dropped in the prequalification box at the Council Matters Unit, Registrar Department.
Deadline for Submission
The documents shall be submitted not later than 12 noon on 31st March 2014.
Opening of Pre -Qualification Documents
The pre-qualification documents shall be opened immediately after 12:00 noon on submission in the University Council Chambers on the 31st March, 2014. All bidders are expected to attend. Interested members of the public and private sector professional in the Construction Industries, Non-Governmental Organization and Journalists are invited to witness the Opening.

- The University reserves the right to reject any or all expression of Interest to terminate the selection process at any time without any liability to the University
- Any document(s) submitted after the closing time and date shall not be considered.
- If a any time during the process it is discovered that the submission made by any contractor is invalid/fake, the contractor will be automatically disqualified.
