Invitation for Pre-Qualification for Contractors
Introduction:
The Federal University of Technology Owerri invites competent contractors for prequalification of some projects under the year 2012: Tertiary Education Trust fund (TETFUND) Normal Intervention Proects.
Brief Description of Projects
Lot l: Construction of proposed School of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology Department Building (Civil Works 1).
Lot 2: Construction of Proposed School of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology Department Building (Civil Works 2).
Lot 3: Furnishing of proposed School of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology Department Building
Lot 4: Construction of proposed School of Agriculture and Agricultural Department Building (Electrical/Mechanical Works 1)
Lot 5: Construction of proposed School of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology Department Building (Electrical/Mechanical Work 2)
Lot 6: Furnishing of proposed School of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology Department Building.
Pre-Qualification Requirements
Mandatory Requirements (Original Documents must be presented for sighting)
a. Evidence of Incorporation with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC)
b. Current Tax Clearance Certificate for the past 3 years i.e. 2011, 2012 & 2013.
c. Evidence of compliance with PENCOM requirements (with certificates).
d. Evidence of compliance with industrial Training Fund (ITF) requirements (with Certificates).
Other Requirements:-
- List of similar and verifiable projects successfully executed by your company with locations, letters of award completion certificates within the last 5 years.
- Company Resume.
- List and qualifications/CV and certificates of your staff who will execute the project.
- Bank reference letter/Bank support showing evidence of financial capacity to execute the contract.
- List of equipment needed for the execution of the project with proof of ownership.
- Evidence of Remittance of Value Added Tax (VAT).
Submission
Your pre-qualification documents must be in sealed envelope and addressed to: The Registrar, Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo State.
The top hand corner shall bear the name of the project for which you are applying for example “Construction of proposed School of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology Department Building (Civil Works 1)” the documents shall be dropped in the prequalification box at the Council Matters Unit, Registrar Department.
Deadline for Submission
The documents shall be submitted not later than 12 noon on 31st March 2014.
Opening of Pre -Qualification Documents
The pre-qualification documents shall be opened immediately after 12:00 noon on submission in the University Council Chambers on the 31st March, 2014. All bidders are expected to attend. Interested members of the public and private sector professional in the Construction Industries, Non-Governmental Organization and Journalists are invited to witness the Opening.

- Any document(s) submitted after the closing time and date shall not be considered.
- If a any time during the process it is discovered that the submission made by any contractor is invalid/fake, the contractor will be automatically disqualified.
