This invitation follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this project that appeared in UNDB online AfDB84-818/12, Issue No. 818 of 16th March 2012 and on the African Development Bank Group’s Internet
The Federal Government of Nigeria on behalf of Kaduna State has received financing from the African Development Bank towards the cost of the Zaria Water Supply Expansion and Sanitation Project, and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this loan to payments under the contract for Solid Waste Management Study/Pilot Scheme.
The services to be performed by Qualified Consultants under this project are as follows;

| 1 | Analysis and Evaluation of the present Urban Solid Waste and the exiting management services (technical, socio-economic, behavioural and environmental) in Zaria Metropolis and identification of shortcomings and Challenges |
| 2 | Develop a Masterplan and a detailed Action Plan for an efficient SWM system apply appropriate technology that includes the optimum collection, transportation, processing and disposal/reuse arrangements in line with the local community’s expectations and capacity; thereby integrating green growth principals. |
| 3 | Design Procure and supervise the Pilot solid wastes disposal scheme |
| 4 | Design and Roll-Out an Awareness Campaign on SWM for Zaria Metropolis |
| 5 | Design and Roll-Out an effective Capacity Building Program |
The Executing Agency is Kaduna State Water Board and the Implementation period is 12 months.
The Kaduna State Water Board now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may constitute joint-ventures to enhance their chances of qualification.
Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African Development Bank’s “Rules and Procedures for the use of Consultants” May 2008, Revised July, 2012; which is available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org. Borrowers are under no obligation to shortlist any consultant who expresses interest. Interested consultants may obtain further information at the address below during office hours 8.00am to 4.00pm.
Expressions of interest must be delivered to the address below by 15th May, 2014 at 12.00 noon and mention “ZARIA WATER SUPPLY EXPANSION AND SANITATION PROJECT: Solid management Study/Pilot Scheme.
