Request for Application for Accreditation of Civil Society Organisations (CSOS), Community-Based Organisations (CBOS), Faith-Based Organisations (FBOS), Ant Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) To Partner With The Commission In Its Activities
- Introduction
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) hereby invites registered Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), Faith-Based Organisations (FBOs, Community-based Organisations (CBOs), and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) whose focus is Democracy, Governance and Elections and who wish to be accredited to partner with the Commission to visit the Commission’s website www.inecnigeria.org and download application forms.
- Qualification
To be accredited, an organisation must show:
- Duly completed application for accreditation form;
- Evidence of Registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) or Registration with any Government Authority;
- Evidence of previous electoral experience (see Accreditation Guide);
- Be Non-Partisan;
- Not affiliated to any Political Party/Association, Candidate or Aspirant;
- A Trustee or Principal Officer must subscribe to an Oath/Affidavit of verification of facts in the application and non-partisanship of the Organization.
3. Method of Application
Interested organisations wishing to apply are requested to download application forms from the Commission’s website, complete and submit same to the Department of Voter Education, Publicity, Gender and Civil Society Organisations at the INEC Headquarters Annex Office, No. 10, Blantyre Street, Wuse II, Abuja, or at the State Offices of the Commission in the 36 States and FCT.
Please note that submission of application forms DOES NOT automatically qualify applicants for accreditation.
List of successful applicants will be published in the National Dailies and the Commission’s website after screening of all applicants.
Closing date for the receipt of application forms is 2nd June, 2014.
Guide to Accreditation
- Evidence of Registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) or with any other Government Authority.
- Evidence of Previous Electoral Experience:
i) INEC letter of engagement;
ii) Report(s) of previous engagements (in soft copies: CD Rom only),
iii) Any other relevant evidence.
- Non-Partisanship.
- Non-Affiliation to any Political Party, Political Association, Candidate or Aspirant.
- Evidence of National/Regional/State/LGA presence (as applicable).
- List of members, e-mail addresses and phone numbers.
- Completed INEC Accreditation Application Form.
- Affidavit or Oath deposed to in a Court by a Trustee of Principal Officer of the Organisation verifying the facts in the application and stating that the Organisation is Non-Partisan and shall abide by the Code of Conduct and all Regulations of INEC.
NOTE: Address of the registered office and branch offices (where applicable) are required, please.
