Notice for Expression of Interest
This request for expression of interest follows the General Procurement Notice of this project that appeared in Development Business WB4617-764/09 of November 12.2009.
The Federal Government of Nigeria has received financing from the International Development Association towards the cost of the Federal Capital Territory Community and Social Development Project (FCT CSDP) and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consultancy services. The services include: Development of modules and training of the FCT CSDP project staff on Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA). The trained project staff is expected to cascade the PRA training at the community level.
The FCT CSDP now invites eligible Firm/ Training Institution to express their interest in providing the services. Interested firm/training institution must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services which should include: brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.)
The training is expected to be participatory, practical and experience-based and should employ various methods such as case studies, presentations and brain storming. Field trips and hands-on activities will be the major mode of delivery of this training.
The assignment is expected to be conducted by a firm/training institution. The Firm/ Training Institution should have not less than 15 years of experience in training/rural development activities specifically in the area of PRA methodology. It must have good understanding of Community Driven Development (CDD) concept in community/rural infrastructural development. Experience and expertise in project management, project implementation processes and procedures using the CDD approach will be an added advantage. Also, the Firm/ Training Institution must have experienced personnel and capable of developing training modules in thematic area.
The consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers, May 2004 (revised October 2006).
