Invitation to Tender at UNICEF Nigeria

UNICEF Nigeria Country Office is calling for interested Printing Firms to submit applications to become prequalified in relation to upcoming Invitation to Bid (ITB) for Printing of Education materials.
Background:
UNICEF, in collaboration with the Federal Government of Nigeria and funding from the UK Department for International Development is supporting the States with low enrollment of girls in basic education to improve the enrollment of girls The Girls’ Education Project has therefore incorporated a number of strategies which include integration of core subjects (Mathematics, English, Basic Science and Technology, Social Studies etc.) into traditional Qur’anic Schools, to increase and expand opportunities for girls to acquire basic education. The project is providing the curriculum, teachers’ guide and some of the basic text books to about 1,510 schools as a major strategic step to kickstart functional teaching and learning in the newly integrated schools.
Major tasks:
Printing of school text books and manuals (about 40 items) with the following generic specifications (exact details and number of pages vary):
Format and size: Horizontal (Landscape) or vertical (Portrait), A4
Paper (Cover): Matte card (250 gms)
Paper (Inner Pages): Bond Paper (80gms wood free white)
Colour (Cover): Full Process
Colour (Inner Pages): B/W or Full Process
Finishing: Perfect bound or saddle stitch and well trim to size
Other: Matte laminated cover
Quantity: Varies (5,000 – 60,000)
Mandatory Requirements for Prequalification
- Excellent design and production capacity.
- Operate from own press with minimum of a four color printing machine in offset or digital format
- Have a functional in-house pre-press section with graphic design services and type setting
- Have a finishing section with sorting machines and perfect binding facility
- Experience of Company and Personnel to be assigned to this contract
- Excellent editorial copyediting, design and layout skills.
- Prior experience with producing technical guidance, laying out pictures, charts and tables.
- Financial stability of the company.
- Minimum of 5 years of existence and minimum of 3 years of experience in provision of similar services and implementation of similar contracts.
- Capacity to transport and deliver printed materials to end-users at final destinations will be an advantage
Submission of Expression of Interest (EOI)
Interested service providers are required to complete and submit the Supply Profile Form (SPF), which can be downloaded from www.unicef.org/nigeria/about 3841.html or obtained by sending an enquiry to
abujasupply@unicef.org. Supporting documents as indicated in the SPF shall be submitted to meet the mandatory requirements for prequalification.

This EOI does not constitute a solicitation. We do not require bids or proposals at this stage; we merely seek your expression of interest in participating in the tender.
A response to this Request for Expression of Interest does not automatically ensure that you will be selected to participate in the tender.
