Invitation to Pre-Qualify for Turnkey Transmission Projects
Background and Objective
Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) is a parastatal company that is the nation-wide licensee, owner and operator of the Nigerian transmission system, which consists of high voltage 330 kV and 132 kV line, substation and control facilities.
This Request for Qualifications seeks to identify a shortlist of contractors for transmission rehabilitation and expansion projects. Applicants who requalify will be eligible to enter into contracts resulting from the bidding for which this pre- qualification is conducted.
Sources of Funding
The funding for the projects will be provided by one or both of the following sources
(a) China Exim Bank borrowing
(b) Applicant financing.
Applicants for China EximBank funded projects must demonstrate the ability to meet the Bank’s requirements for sourcing of goods and services. The Borrower for China EximBank funding is the Federal Republic of Nigeria on behalf of TCN.
Clarification on Prior Pre-qualification
TCN previously issued a similar pre-qualification on September 29, 2014. Some applicants who participated in the earlier pre-qualification process may need to resubmit their applications. Prospective applicants are advised to review the submission rules shown in the current pre-qualification document for further clarification.
Scope of Works
The Contract Facilities will consist of rehabilitation, repair, replacement and expansion of 330kV & 132kV lines and 330/132kV & 132/33kV substations and transformers. The contract facilities are located nationwide.
The scope of works shall include all engineering, procurement and construction services, including supply and installation of new equipment, adaptation and repair of existing equipment, spares, tools and whatever may be necessary to have complete installations of Contract Facilities.
TCN expects to procure transmission rehabilitation contracts for some or all of the following Contract Lots.

Deadline for Applications
Pre-qualification documents should be submitted according to the requirements stated in the pre-qualification document not later than 5 pm Monday 23rd March, 2015.
