Invitation for the Pre – Qualification of Contractors
Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic is seeking for reputable contractors to pre – qualify for the execution of its 2013 TETFUND Normal Intervention Projects.
(a)Projects:
Lot 1 – Construction and Furnishing of Chemistry/Biochemistry Laboratory for Higher National Diploma (HND) Science Laboratory Technology (POLY/KATSINA/TETFUND/13/1l);
Lot 2 – Construction and Furnishing of 1No Block of Two (2) Technical Drawing Studios (POLY/ KATSINA/TETFUND/13/02);
Lot3 – Construction and Furnishing of 1No Block of Six Offices for Head of Department, Mathematics and Statistics (POLY/KATSINA/TETFUND/13/03);
Lot 4 – Construction and Furnishing of 1No Block of Six (6) Offices for Director College of Science and Technology (CST) (POLY/KATSINA/TETFUND/13/04);
Lot 5 – Construction and Furnishing of 1No Block of Two (2) Classrooms for College of Administration and Management Studies (CAMS) (POLY/KATSINA/TETFUND/13/05);
Lot 6 – Construction and Furnishing of 1No Block of Ten (10) Offices for College of Administration and Management Studies (CAMS) (POLY/KATSINA/TETFUND/13/06);
Lot 7 – Construction and Furnishing of 1No Block of Six (6) Offices for Welding and Fabrication Engineering (POLY/KATSINA/TETFUND/13/07);
Lot 8 – Construction and Furnishing of 1No Block of Three (3) Classrooms for College of Engineering (COE) (POLY/KATSINA/TETFUND/13/08);
Lot 9 – Construction and Furnishing of 1No Block of Three (3) Classrooms for College of Basic and Remedial Studies (CBRS) (POLY/KATSINA/TETFUND/13/09);
Lot 10 – Construction and Furnishing of Model Village for National Diploma (ND) Home and Rural Economics (POLY/KATSINA/TETFUND/13/10);
Lot 11 – Renovation of Musa D. Abdullahi Central Library (POLY/KATSINA/TETFUND/13/11);
Lot 12 – Construction and Furnishing of 1No Block of Six (6) Offices for Two (2) Head of Department for College of Basic and Remedial Studies (CBRS) (POLY/KATSINA/TETFUND/13/12);
(b) Pre – Qualification Evaluation Criteria
i. Evidence of Registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission;
ii. Evidence of Current Tax Clearance Certificate;
iii. Vat Registration Certificate;
iv. Evidence of Compliance with Pension Reform Act 2004;
v. Evidence of Compliance with the Provisions of Section 6(l)-(3) of the Amended ITF Act, 2011;
vi. Company Profile and Organizational Structure including Names and Technical Qualification(s) and Experience(s) of key personnel that will be involved in the Project;
- Verifiable list of Equipment/Machineries owned by the Contractor;
- Verifiable List of Previous Works successfully carried out within the last three (3) years with names of clients, evidence of award and practical completion and me details of on – going projects;
ix. Evidence of Financial Capability to handle the job and Bank Reference;
x. Company Audited Account for the immediate past three (3)years;
xi. Evidence of Registration with the Federal or State Tenders Board;
- Any other information that will assist the Polytechnic in assessing the Organization. The Original copies of items i – xii listed above shall be made available for sighting during the opening session;
(C) Pre – Qualification Fees
Interested contractors are to pay a Non – refundable Pre – qualification fee of Thirty (N30,000.00) for Lots 1, 2, 5, 6, 8 9 and Twenty Thousand Naira (N20,000.00) for Lots 3,4, 7,10,11, and 12 respectively for each lot applied.
Payment should be made at the Bursary Department by certified Bank Draft made payable to the Rector, Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic.
(D) Return of Documents
Pre – Qualification documents listed in (b) above should be returned along with the original copy of the receipt for payment of the appropriate Non-refundable Pre-Qualification fees in a sealed envelope marked “Pre-Qualification Documents for 2013 Tetfund Normal Intervention Projects Lot…………… (State Lot No. and addressed to:, –

To reach him on or before 30th June, 2014. Pre-qualification documents will be opened on the same day by 12:30p.m. All Contractors or their representatives and members of Civil Society Groups are invited to witness the occasion.
(E) Important Notice
i) ONLY Pre – qualified companies shall be invited to progress with the main tender.
ii) This advertisement of “Invitation to pre – qualify” shall not be construed to be an invitation to tender nor a commitment on the part of Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic, Katsina to award any form of contract to any company. It shall not also entitle any company submitting documents to claim indemnity from the Polytechnic. The Polytechnic reserves the right to take final decision on any of the documents received in the pre – qualification package.
iii) Tender opening will be on Monday 28th July, 2014 by 12.30p.m at Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic, Katsina, Committee Room, Central Administration. All contractors or their representatives and members of Civil Society Groups are invited to witness the occasion.
