Invitation for Pre-Qualification for 2013 UBE Intervention Fund Projects

Applications are hereby invited from reputable and competent Firms/Companies for pre-qualification to tender for 2013 USE Intervention Fund projects.

1. Project Description: Development of Infrastructure

1.1 ECCDE:

1. Construction of 3-classroom blocks with 2-unit VIP Toilet in various public primary schools in the State.
2. Renovation of 3-classroom blocks
3. Supply of teachers’ furniture

1.2     Primary Schools:

1. Construction of twin one-storey 12-classroom blocks with 2-unit VIP toilet each.
2. Perimeter fencing of Primary Schools.
3. Renovation of 4-classroom blocks in various primary schools in the State.
4. Supply of teachers’ furniture
5. Supply of Single-seater plastic pupils’ desks.

1.3     Junior Secondary Schools

1. Construction of twin one-storey 12-classroom blocks with 2-unit VIP toilet each in Junior Secondary Schools in the State.
2. Renovation of 5-classroom blocks in Junior Secondary Schools in the State.
3. Supply of 2-seater students’ desks
4. Supply of teachers’ furniture

   Pre-Qualification Requirements

Only Companies/Contractors that have proven capability/ relevant experience and good track record will be considered for pre-qualification to tender.

Companies are required to submit their profile with underlisted documents m sealed envelopes clearly marked “Pre-qualification to Tender” addressed to the Executive Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board, Port Harcourt Road, P.M.B. 1500, Owerri, Imo State not later than 4.00pm Friday, 5^th September, 2014.

• Certificate of registration/incorporation issued by CAC
• Current Tax Clearance Certificate
• Evidence of Similar projects executed
• List of equipment and resume’ of key professional staff to be involved in construction work
• Evidence of healthy banking relationship
• Current VAT registration Certificate
• Audited accounts for 3 years (for limited liability companies)
• Evidence of registration with the Board and State/Federal Ministry of Works.

  Tender Procedure

Pre-qualified bidders are required to pay non-refundable tender fee of N20,000 for Category ‘A’: N50,000 for Category ‘B’ and N150,000 for Category ‘C’ respectively to SUBEB UBA Account at Wetheral Road, Owerri and collect receipt from SUBEB Cash Office on presentation of bank paying-in teller.

Bidding documents can be collected by pre-qualified companies/firms from Works Department, SUBEB, Owerri from 9.00am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday, daily from Monday, 8^th September, 2014.

Submission of Tender

The bids with the tender documents must be enclosed in sealed envelopes clearly marked “Tender for 2013 UBE Intervention Fund Project”, addressed to:

Opening of Bids

The bids properly submitted will be opened on Friday, 19^th September, 2014 at 1.00pm prompt.
