Invitation for Pre-Qualification
The Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) formerly Anambra State University invites bids for pre-qualification and tender/bidding from interested reputable and competent contractors for the construction of the following projects under the needs Assessment of Nigeria Public Universities Special Presidential Intervention Phase I and II as follows
Phase 1
(a) Rehabilitation/Renovation of Hostels
(b) Rehabilitation/Renovation of Lecture Rooms
(c) Rehabilitation/Renovation of Laboratories and Libraries
(d) Construction of new Lecture Theatre and Lecture Rooms
(e) Construction of Laboratories and Libraries
Phase II
(a) Construction of Lab/Studio/Workshop
(b) Construction of Staff offices
(c) Construction of Seminar Rooms/Auditorium
(d) Installation of Municipal Services: Solar Street Lighting
(e) Construction of Recreational facilities (Foot Ball/Sports Field).
Requirements
Competent and interested contractors and suppliers who have requisite experience, equipment and plants and desire to execute the project(s) are required to submit their firm’s profile which must include but not limited to the following documents
(i) Evidence of incorporation of the company with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC)
(ii) Evidence of recent annual remittances to ITF (ITF Compliant)
(iii) Evidence of current tax clearance certificate for the past three years (i.e. 2012, 2013, 2014)
(iv) Evidence of VAT certificate and VAT remittances to Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS).
(v) Evidence of Registration with the University as a Contractor indicating the category.
(vi) Evidence of Registration with the Anambra State Ministry of Works or Federal Ministry of Works.
(vii) Company profile with list of staff (with evidence of salary payments for at least six months) including Curriculum Vitae, Competence, Qualifications, Registrations with relevant regulatory professional bodies (particularly in the building/construction projects) and experience of key personnel.
(viii) Evidence of previous similar projects undertaken in past Five(5) years including verifiable scope of project, site of project, contract sum, evidence of successful completion of such projects in record time (showing interim/ final valuations and payment certificates).
(ix) Evidence of current edited accounts of firms for the past Three (3) Years (2012, 2013, 2014).
(x) Evidence of possession of plants and equipment and a listing of such equipment as possessed/owned or easily accessible by the Firm. State location of plants and equipment for ease of verification.
(xi) Evidence of Financial capability and banking support (bank references), bank statement of accounts for last three months and letter authorizing the University to verify same from the bank.
(xii) Sworn affidavit that (a) Firm is not bankrupt (b) none of the Directors is an ex-convict or bankrupt.
(xiii) Evidence of remitting employee pension contributions to appropriate pension fund custodian (PENCOM compliance)
(xiv) Please state clearly your company’s full address, GSM Phone number and email address for easy communication.
Method of Application
All applications should be packaged in the listed order(i-xiv) above. Eligible Companies/Firms who desire to be pre-qualified for these projects are required to prepare and submit their pre-qualification documents in One (l) hard copy and One (1) soft copy in a sealed envelope clearly indicating on the top the chosen description scope of work as well as the code of the chosen lot and address to: The Registrar Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Igbariam Campus, Anambra State. Deadline for Submission Pre-qualification documents should be registered and thereafter dropped into the Tender Box at the Registrar’s Office, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam Campus not later than 9th September 2015. Pre-qualification documents shall be processed on an appointed day by the University. All Contractors/Firms will be notified of the pre-qualification result in writing. Successful and pre-qualified contractors shall thereafter be invited to collect the tender and bid documents from the Director of Physical Planning, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam Campus. While returning respective tender documents, the tenderers/bidders shall be required to pay stipulated Non Refundable tender fee of N100,000.00 (One hundred thousand naira only) in Ecobank, Fidelity Bank or Zenith Bank and obtain certified Bank Teller and convert the Bank Teller into a receipted evidence of payment from the Revenue Unit of then University Bursary. Certified ten copies of the receipts of all payments must be attached. The completed tender documents should be returned not later than 9th September 2015.
