Advertisement for Pre-Qualification of Contractors
(1.1) Introduction
The Federal University Wukari in its effort to implement its Approved Special Intervention Projects under the “Normal Intervention in Nigerian Public Universities” hereby invites interested and reputable Contractors to submit Tenders for the purpose of Pre-qualification and Financial Bidding.
(1.1) Description and Scope of Works
The Projects are:
(1) Construction of Laboratory and Multi-purpose Hall Block for Faculty of Agriculture Building LOT 1
(2) Construction of Classrooms and Academic Staff Offices for Faculty of Agriculture Building LOT 2
(3) Construction of Integrated Science Laboratory LOT 3
(4) Supply of Library Books LOT 4
(5) Supply of Library Journals LOT 5
(6) Supply and Installation of Library Furniture LOT 6
(7) Supply and Installation of Library Equipment LOT 7
(8) Supply and Installation of Science Laboratory Equipment LOT 8
(9) Supply and Installation of Furniture LOT 9A, 9B, 9C, 9D
(10) Supply and Installation of Equipment and Furniture for Entrepreneurship Centre LOT 10
These projects comprises of Construction of Faculty of Agriculture Building and the Supply and Installation of Library Furniture to be located at the Federal University Wukari, Taraba State. The details and scope of works would be provided in the form of Specifications, Drawings and Un-priced Bill of Quantities to be received by bidders.
2.0 Pre-Qualification Criteria
Interested Contractors are invited to submit the following documents; viz
(i) Evidence of incorporation of company with the Corporate Affairs Commission.
(ii) Company Audited Account for the last three (3) years.
(iii) Evidence of Current Tax Clearance Certificate.
(iv) Provision of Tax Identification Number (TIN)
(v) Evidence of compliance with Pension Reform Act.
(vi) Evidence of compliance with ITF Amendment Act 2011
(vii) Evidence of Financial capability and banking support.
(viii) Evidence of similar and verifiable projects executed not just awarded within the last three (3) years and knowledge of the Industry.
(ix) Company’s Annual turnover.
(x) Evidence of VAT registration.
(xi) Comprehensive Company profile and organizational structure.
(xii) Evidence of availability of necessary equipment.
(xiii) Evidence of technical capacity.
(xiv) Evidence of Technical qualification and experience of key personnel to be deployed on the project.
(xv) Sworn Affidavit attesting to the authenticity of information provided and that such information is true in every respect and that the company is not in receivership and none of its Directors has ever been convicted of fraudulent activity.
(xvi) Evidence of Payment of non refundable Processing and Tender fee of N50,000.00 in bank draft in favour of “Federal University Wukari” to the University, Tenderers that are interested in more than one lot or project must apply and pay for each lot or project.
(3.0) Verification of Claims
Please note that Federal University Wukari reserves the right to verify claims made in the Pre-qualification documents submitted by interested Contractors / Suppliers.
(4.0) Submission of Tenders
Financial Bid document containing full specifications, Designs and Drawings, un-priced Bill of Quantities (BOQ) will be available for collection as from Wednesday, 5th November, 2014. These can be obtained at Procurement Unit of the University at Federal University Wukari or at the University’s Liaison Office at No. 9B, 61 Road, off 6 Avenue, Gwarimpa Estate, Abuja upon presentation of evidence of payment of the prescribed fees.
(a) Two copies of all Prequalification Tender document to be submitted must be in a sealed envelope and marked at the top-right hand corner of the envelope “Pre-Qualification for (Project Name)”.
(b) One copy of Financial Tender document (Priced Bill of Quantities) to be submitted must be in a sealed envelope and marked at the top-right hand corner of the envelope “Financial Tender for (Project Name)”.
(c) All envelopes should be addressed to:

And drop in Tender’s Box at Administrative Building, Federal University Wukari, Taraba State.
(5.0) The submission of this Tender will close by 12.00 noon, 1st December, 2014 and tenders shall be opened publicly on same date 1st December, 2014 by 12.00 noon at the Large Lecture hall, Multipurpose Building, University Campus in the presence of all interested bidders or their representatives in attendance.
(6.0) Members of Civil Societies, Relevant Authorities and General Public are also invited to attend the Opening.
(7.0) Only bidders, that are prequalified will have their Financial Tenders opened.
