Prequalification of Contractors for the Repair of Marine Vessels – National Shopping List
A. Introduction
The Nigerian Ports Authority hereby invites interested and competent marine vessel repairers with relevant experience to apply for prequalification to be placed on a National Shopping List for periodic repairs of various marine vessels for a period of two (2) years.
Please, Note that Bidders are not allowed to bid for more than Two (2) Lots in all the Nigerian Ports Authority Publications of Today 14th July, 2014
B. Scope of Projects
The scope of the project includes short listing of reputable companies for periodic repair of the Authority’s marine vessels.
C. Prequalification Requirements
Interested companies should submit Three (3) HARD copies (one original and two duplicate copies) and a SOFT copy (MS Word/Excel/PDF) of the bound documents duly signed, paginated, separated by dividers and arranged in the order outlined hereunder:
Mandatory Requirements (SOFT and HARD COPIES)
- Company registration Certificate from Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) including Articles of Association.
2. TAX Clearance Certificate for 2011, 2012 & 2013
3. Pension Commission (PENCOM) Compliance certificate where applicable
4. Industrial Training Fund (ITF) certificate where applicable
5. Evidence of registration with Financial Reporting Council (FRC) where applicable
Other Requirements
1. Evidence of ownership of dry-docking facilities or partnership (MOU) with an existing shipyard with such facilities.
2. Evidence of a certified Welding Procedure Specification.
3. Details of relevant verifiable experience of similar past marine vessels repair. Please, attach copies of transaction documents including award letters and project completion certificates.
4. Evidence of existing and working Quality Assurance and Control Systems.
5. Company profile to include names, qualifications and experience of key personnel.
6. All relevant information concerning contact, telephone, fax and e-mail address of company representatives.
7. Bids must be in English language, in clear copy and signed by an official authorized by the company.
8. Evidence of financial capability from a reputable bank.
D. Submission of Prequalification Documents
One (I) soft and three (3) hard copies of prequalification documents should be packaged in a sealed envelope and clearly marked “Prequalification of Contractor for the repair of Marina Vessels” specifying Public Notice No 3852 addressed to The Secretary, Tenders Board, Nigerian Ports Authority and dropped in the designated Tender Box located on the ground floor, Nigerian Ports Authority Headquarters at 26/28, Marina Lagos not later than 11.00 am on 29th July, 2014. All received bids will be opened immediately at the Conference room, I Joseph Street, off Marina, Lagos in the presence of bidders or their representatives. Please, ensure that you sign the bid submission register in the office of the General Manager, Procurement, ground floor, as the Authority will not be held liable for misplaced or wrongly submitted bids. Note that this invitation to tender does not place any obligation on the Authority to consider any bidder for:
1. Award of Contract.
2. Acceptance of any fender and wrongly placed tenders would not be entertained.
All costs incurred as a result of this tender invitation and any subsequent requests
for information shall be borne by the bidding companies. Late submission will not
be entertained and only short-listed companies will be contacted.
