Invitation for Pre-Qualification/Bid for the Production of Plastic Cans and CAPS for Lubricants

NNPC Retail Ltd, a leading company in the retail marketing of Petroleum products in the Nigerian Downstream industry seeks to complement its activities with the introduction of NNPC Retail Limited branded lubricants for sale in Nigeria.

The lubricants will be packaged in NNPC Retail Branded plastic containers. The services of a locally based reputable plastic fabricating company is required for the production of 1 liter, 4 liter & 25 liter plastic CANS and their CAPS.

• Various labels to be pasted on the cans will be supplied by NNPC Retail to the packaging company.
• The selected company will be given NNPC Retail customized Moulds to be used for the manufacture of CANS and CAPS.
• Commercial terms will be negotiated after the technical selection process is completed in line with guidelines stipulated by NNPC Retail Limited.
• Please take note of the following listed criteria as a guide to your application for the engagement of your company as it will be strictly adhered to during the selection process.

Criteria or Engagement of Lubricant Packaging Materials Company

CANS & SCREW CAPS:

1.       Prospective companies must be based in Nigeria with production activity in Nigeria with proven track records and experience.

2.       Company profile including board of Directors & ownership should be submitted.

3.       Prospects are required to show their Quality Assurance Certificates and evidence of quality management system in place.

4.       They must show evidence of similar work and partners with the existing reputable oil marketing company in the industry.

5.       Price must be highly competitive and not compromising quality, (to be offered on request)

6.      Prospective plastic companies must have the installed capacity to produce (800,000 X 4 Lts), (800,000 X 1Lt) and (400,000 X 25Lts) nos. of cans monthly for the next five (5) years.

7.       Prospective company must have the financial Capacity to produce and supply material to be paid within 30 days of receipt by NNPC Retail Ltd.

8.       Prospects should be able to produce screw caps with thermo seals within for additional quality control to protect against adulteration.

9.       Warehousing facilities to keep at least one month stock of finished products.

10.     Proximity to the blending plant in Kaduna will be an added advantage.

11.     Prospects must be able to produce Sample Cans that will meet NNPC Retail Ltd’s requirements. Tests for conformity will be done.

12.     Prospective companies must attach copies of company’s registration with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC)-form CA2, CA7 & Copy of certificate of registration.

13.     Prospects must show their Tax clearance certificates for the last 3 years.

14.     Prospects must show evidence of adherence to HSEQ norms in line with the standard operating practice in the industry.

Suitable companies are hereby invited to submit their competitive bids to NNPC Retail.
