Public Display Exercise on the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of The Proposed RCC Granite Quarry at KM 185, Sanni Camp, Erivaire, Ogbere Town, Ijebu East Local Government Area, Ogun State 

In accordance with the provisions of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Act Cap E12 LFN 2004, which makes it mandatory for proponents of all new major development activities to carry out Environmental Impact Assessment for their proposed projects, the Federal Ministry of Environment hereby announces a twenty-one (21) working days Public Notice for information and comments on the Draft EIA Report of the above named project submitted by Reynolds Construction Company (RCC) Nigeria Limited.

The Display Centers Are:

• Ijebu East Local Government Area Headquarters, Ogbere, Ogun State.
• Ogun State Ministry of Environment, State Secretariat, Abeokuta.
• Federal Ministry of Environment office, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
• Federal Ministry of Environment, Conservation House (Green Building), Plot 444 Aguiyi Ironsi. Maitama, Abuja FCT
• Federal Ministry of Environment, Environment House (Brown Building), Independence Way, Central Business District, Abuja FCT

Project Description:

The quarry project is proposed to be sited in Ogbere Town, Ijebu-Ode East Local Government Area, Ogun State to serve the granite needs of the Company’s Civil and Construction works in Ogun State and its environs.

The project activities will include site clearing, drilling of holes on the rocks, blasting, haulage, crushing, stockpiling and various other civil works.

The facilities to be installed at the quarry site include the plant (crushing, screens and tower crane), weigh bride, office, diesel storage tanks, explosive magazine house, power house and maintenance workshop among others on a total land area of 4 Cadastral unit.

Duration of Display:

Date: 17^th April, 2015 to 13^th May, 2015.

Time: 8 00am -4:00pm Daily.

ALL COMMENTS RECEIVED SHOULD BE FORWARDED TO THE HON. MINISTER, FEDERAL MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT ON OR BEFORE 20^th MAY, 2015.
