Notice of Invitation for the Expression of Interest (Pre-Qualification) for the Engagement of External Lawyers by the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading PLC (NBET)
Introduction:
The Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc (NBET) is desirous of undertaking a pre-qualification exercise of Law Firms/Legal Practitioners with a view to identifying am selecting qualified firms/practitioners that will assist it in executing its mandate in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry. Consequently NBET wishes to invite competent and reputable law firms/Legal Practitioners to submit an expression of interest/application for pre-qualification to serve as external lawyers to NBET.

4. | Drafting, Negotiation and Finalization of International Commercial Agreements especially Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs); Put Call Option Agreements (PCOA); Gas Supply/Transport Agreements; Transmission Line Agreements (TLA); Inter Creditor Agreements. Engineering. Procurement and Construction Agreements (PCA); and other specialized Agreements having relevance to the Electricity/Energy Sector. |

General Requirement
Interested and competent law firms/legal practitioners wishing to provide NBET with the services highlighted in the work areas must submit the following documents with expression of interest for pre-qualification:
(1) Comprehensive firm profile including principal place of business, functional email address, phone numbers, names of key personnel, years and areas of experience of the key personnel as well as the firm itself,
(2) Certificate of compliance issued by National Pension Commission as evidence of fulfilling employers’ obligation to employees with respect of pension, (where applicable)
(3) Evidence of registration with relevant Professional bodies.
(4) Detailed description of areas of practice/competence supported with verifiable evidence of similar and other jobs successfully executed in the last three years.
Please note that information and data supplied by successfully pre-qualified firms/Legal Practitioners arc to form the profile of such, for inclusion into a central database of Legal consultants maintained by NBET. The current exercise is a one-off process and will in due course serve the purpose of decision making by NBET to engage the services of any firm in the future General Litigation.

- This is not an invitation to tender. Pre-qualification does not commit the company to award any contracts to any pre-qualified company /companies. Full tendering procedures will be open only to contractors pre-qualified and found capable of executing specific projects within the work areas.

- NBET reserves the right to verify the authenticity of any claims made in the document(s) submitted by companies.
- Failure to comply with the instructions and provide any required document(s) may automatically result in disqualification.
- Submission of false documents is an offense and would lead to disqualification and prosecution.
