Invitation for Pre-Qualification
Kaduna Electricity Distribution PLC (KAEDCO) is one of the eleven Distribution companies privatized by the Federal government of Nigeria as part of the power sector reform program implementation.
Located in the North West zone of Nigeria, the company has licence to distribute and market electricity in the four states of Kaduna; Kebbi; Zamfara and Sokoto. KAEDCO is desirous of inviting bids from Nigerian registered insurance underwriting companies for insurance coverage of its Assets, Personnel and Operational risks.
All interested Underwriting Companies seeking to be considered for appointment MUST satisfy as a minimum, the following mandatory Requirements:
(a) Original Certified True copy by the Corporate Affairs Commission of the Company’s certificate of Registration.
(b) Certified True copy of Memorandum and Articles of Association
(c) Copy of forms Co2 & Co7
(d) Evidence of Registration with NAICOM
(e) Certified True copy of Tax clearance certificate for the last three years
(f) Certified True copy of three years’ company’s Annual Returns to the corporate Affairs Commission
(g) Certificate of compliance with PENCOM
(h) Company’s published audited accounts for the years ended 2014, 2013, and
2012 certified by NAICOM
(i) Certified True copy of three years tax clearance certificates (Receipts not
acceptable) by the Federal Inland Revenue Services.
(j) Evidence of VAT Registration and Remittances
(k) Evidence of compliance with the provisions of Industrial Trust Fund Act 2011 Issued by the Industrial Training Fund
(l) PAYE and Remittances
(m) Complete ownership structure, Management Team, Technical /other staff, Registered address/ other contact details
(n) Evidence of Technical competence and Relevant Experiences in similar projects
(o) Evidence of financial capacity and Banking support
(p) Evidence of current professional Indemnity cover
(q) A statement of Declaration or Affidavit attesting to the fact that none of the bidder’s company Directors /Financial /Principal officers has ever been convicted for any criminal offences /confirmation of legal capacity to enter contract
In addition to the above:
Underwriters are also expected to submit the following
(1) Detailed description of your Understanding of the Scope of work
(2) Evidence of valid reinsurance treaty arrangements
(3) Evidence of an identifiable office in Abuja and at least in three (3) other states capital.
Applications in writing should be submitted as follows:
“THREE copies marked “Qualification AS UNDERWRITER FOR INSURANCE COVERAGE OF KAEDCO ASSETS, PERSONNEL AND OPERATIONAL RISKS” written on the left hand corner of the envelop.

All submissions should reach the above address by 12:00 Noon (Nigeria Time) on or before Thursday 12th March 2015.
This notice and pre-qualification shall not place any commitment on KAEDCO nor establish any legal relationship whatsoever with any bidder. No communication will be entered into with any unsuccessful bidder.
