Invitation for Bids by Pre-Qualified Contractors

Jigawa State Government and Federal Government of Nigeria (represented by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Millennium Development Goals (OSSAP MDGs)), have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly fund the implementation of various Projects and Programmes aimed at putting Nigeria on track to attain the Millennium Development Goals. This follows the approval of various projects and programmes for the State by the National Committee on Conditional Grants Scheme (NCCGS) under the 2013 round of the MDGs Conditional Grants Scheme. The Jigawa State MDGs-CGS Project Coordinating Office under the Directorate of Budget and Economic Planning is mandated to use part of this grant to cover eligible payments under the above listed group of contracts lots as described hereunder in table 1.
2. Having completed the pre-qualification exercise and published the names of pre-qualified contractors (Table 2 of this advert), the Jigawa State MDG-CGS Project Support / Coordinating Unit under the Directorate of Budget and Economic Planning now invites sealed bids from pre-qualified contractors within their pre-qualified eligible areas in accordance with the information contained in tables 2 of this advert.

3. Bidding Documents (and additional copies) may be purchased at the CGS Projects Coordination Office, Millennium Development Goals Coordination & Monitoring Department, Directorate of Budget and Economic Planning, New State Secretariat, Takur, Dutse, Jigawa State, for a non-refundable fee of N30,000.00 (Thirty Thousand Naira Only) for the first LOT and additional N15,000.00 (Ten Thousand Naira Only) for subsequent LOTS purchased within the same project group for BHC and Solar Power Projects as in table 1. For Hand Pumps Projects, Bid Documents could be purchased at a non-refundable fee of N20,000.00 (Twenty Thousand Naira Only) for the first LOT and additional N10,000.00 (Ten Thousand Naira Only) for subsequent LOTS. Interested Pre-qualified contractors may obtain further information at the same address.
4. The method of payment will be in cash. Bidding Documents will be available from Monday 17th March, 2013 to Monday 31st March 2014.
5. Bids should be valid for a period of 120 days after bid opening and must be accompanied by a security as per the table above. Bids should be delivered to the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Directorate of Budget and Economic Planning, Block A New State Secretariat Complex, Takur, Dutse, Jigawa State, on or before 12 noon of Monday, March 31st 2014 at which time the bid-opening exercise would be performed in presence of the bidders who wish to attend.
6. There would be a briefing workshop to inform contractors of the rules and regulations that would guide the preparation of bids and the evaluation of submitted bid documents. This is expected to take place on Thursday 20th March 2014 at Manpower Development Institute, Dutse, Jigawa State.
