Invitation for the Submission of Technical and Financial Proposals for the Power Evacuation Scheme for the on-Going 10MW TIGA and 25MW Challawa Hydro Power Projects and Connection of Metropolitan Street Lights
- Introduction
The Kano State Government, is presently undertaking the construction of Hydro Power Projects at Tiga (10MW) and Challawa (25MW) in Bebeji and Karaye Local Governments respectively. The State Government intends to supply power to Challawa and Tamburawa Water Works, supply electricity to the metropolitan street lights as well as some selected industries located in Sharada and Challawa from the above power stations
(2) It now invites eligible and registered relevant engineering companies to submit financial and technical proposals for the above works on Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) basis.
(3) Description of Services
LOT 1
Engineering, Procurement and Construction of a 33KV Bay Extension at Tiga Switchyard and about 56km of 33KV Dual Circuit Line from 10MW Tiga Hydro Power Project Site in Bebeji Local Government Area to a proposed 2x15MVA, 33/11KV Substation to be located at the premises of Challawa Water Works:
LOT2
Engineering, Procurement and Construction of 33KV Bay Extension at Challawa Switchyard and about 76km of 33KV Dual Circuit High Voltage Line from 25MW Challawa Hydro Power Project Site in Karaye Local Government area to the proposed 2x15MVA, 33/11KV Substation to be located at the premises of Challawa Waterworks.
LOT 3
(a) Construction of 2x15MVA, 33/11KV Substation complete with associated 33KV and 11KV control and protection equipment and panels.
(b) Making good existing 33KV line from Challawa to Tamburawa as well as installation of 7.5MVA, 33/11KV Substation at Tamburawa Waterworks
LOT 4
Construction of 2 No. 33KV feeders and associated transformer substations from Tamburawa Water Works to eastern and western sides of Kano metropolis to feed streetlights respectively.
(4) Qualification, Criteria and Requirements
(a) Registration with Corporate Affairs Commission
(b) Three (3) years (2011 – 2013) Current Tax Clearance Certificate and VAT Registration including TIN No.
(c) Evidence of Pension Compliance Certificate.
(e) Evidence of compliance with Industrial Training fund (ITF) Act, 2011.
(f) Duly signed Audited Accounts by chartered accounting firm for the preceding 3 years (2011 -2013).
(g) Detailed company profile, including evidence of technical competence, curriculum vitae of professional staff proposed for the projects, professional certification, proof of registration of key personnel with relevant professional bodies, as well as name and e-mail address of contact person.
Submission of Bid Documents:
Detailed and concise Technical and Financial Proposals are to be submitted in three (3) hard copies with one of them as original, on or before 12 noon on Wednesday 12th November, 2014 with the inscription on the top left corner of the envelopes: Technical or Financial Proposal for Lot 1, 2,3 or 4”.
