Request for Proposals (Strategic Planning Consultant)
Diamond Development Initiatives (DDI) is a not-for-profit development consulting organization. Established in 2002, DDI provides support to social and economic development projects including micro and small enterprise (MSE) development; agriculture, trade and investment initiatives; micro finance and participatory development best practices.
DDI is seeking an experienced strategic planning consultant to design and facilitate a participatory planning process that will result in the development of a five-year strategic plan for the organization. The strategic plan will be used as a management tool to help focus the organization’s energy as well as assess and adjust the organization’s direction in response to the changing development environment.
Technical Proposal:
In outlining your proposed approach to developing a strategic plan for DDI, please consider the following:
- Your experience in working with an organization like DDI to facilitate the development of a strategic plan, and based on your understanding of our organization, explain the particular challenges and opportunities to address in a strategic plan.
- Based on your knowledge and experience, outline the critical factors that contribute to successful planning.
- Your unique capabilities/experiences that you would bring to the process.
Cost Proposal:
Cost proposals must include a line item budget indicating all costs for carrying out the proposed work, including fees, travel, lodging, meals, supplies, materials, overhead and all other necessary expenses.
Selection Process:
(1) DDI will review and examine all proposals received. Those proposals that do not respond to the requirements of the RFP will be rejected.
(2) A select committee of DDI Board and staff will review the proposals and will choose a limited number of consultants.
(3) The selected consultants will be invited to our Abuja Office to make presentations on their proposals and respond to questions. The consultants will be expected to bear their travel costs to and from Abuja.
(4) Selection will be made based on the best value to DDI and the quality of the proposal.
Period of Performance:
It is expected that the exercise will be held in January and the final report should be delivered by January 30, 2015
