Invitation to Prequalification and Tender.
Nnamdi Azikiwe University Hereby Invites Reputable, Qualified and Competent Firms for Pre-Qualification and Tender for the Group A and to Tender for the Group B of the Under Listed Projects being sponsored under the Needs Assessment Fund and Tetfund Special Intervention.
Group A Project
(i) Clinical Students’ Hostel at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi.
Group B Projects
(ii) Rehabilitation Works in the Faculty of Management Sciences;
(iii) Students Hostel Type A for Awka Campus;
(iv) Students Hostel Type C for Pharmacy at Agulu;
(v) Students Hostel Type A for the College of Health Sciences Nnewi Campus;
(vi) Rehabilitation and Asphalting of Access Road from the Students Hostels to the Demonstration Primary School Junction; and
(vii) Construction of the TETFUND Sponsored Demonstration, Practice and Training Football pitch, handball and basketball courts, changing rooms and other accessories at Awka.
Tender Requirements
Qualified and interested bidders are required to submit the following documents/evidence for Pre-qualification for the Group B Projects; and/or for pre-qualification and tender for the Group A Project along with the tender/financial bid documents.
(1) Evidence of payment of Education Tax (for Limited Liability Companies only);
(2) Evidence of payment of non-refundable deposit of N20,000.00 (Twenty Thousand Naira only) for each of the Group B and N15,000.00 (Fifteen Thousand Naira only) for the Group A Project respectively;
(3) Certificate of registration/incorporation with Corporate Affairs Commission;
(4) Current three years tax clearance certificate;
(5) VAT registration certificate;
(6) List of plant and equipment owned by the company and verifiable addresses of their locations;
(7) Details of verifiable experience of similar projects/evidence of time of completion of projects of similar nature and magnitude;
(8) Resume of key professional staff to be involved in the work and evidence of registration with the relevant professional bodies;
(9) Current financial status of the company;
(10) Evidence of compliance with the 2004 Pension Act as amended;
(11) Evidence of compliance with the statutory provisions of section 6(1)-(3) of the Industrial Training Fund Amendment Act; and
(12) The Financial bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond of 2% of the bid price.
Collection of Tender Documents for the Group A Project
Interested bidders shall on presentation of evidence of payment collect the tender document(s) from the office of the Director of Physical Planning between the hours of 10.00am and 3.00pm daily with effect from Monday 19th January, 2015 till the closing date on Monday 2nd March, 2015.
Submission of Tender Documents for the Group A Project
Technical and Financial bids shall be submitted in two different wax-sealed envelopes and labelled “Technical Bid” and “Financial bid” respectively with the Company’s name indicated at the back of each envelope. Both envelopes should be wax-sealed and placed in a third envelope also wax-sealed and marked with the relevant project name at the top right hand corner and addressed to:
The Registrar Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka on or before 12.00 noon on 2nd March, 2015.
Opening of Tender Documents for the Group A Project
Bidders should note that all Bids received shall be opened in the Council Chamber of the University by 1.00pm on 2nd March 2015
Submission of Prequalification Bids for the Group B Project
Closing date for the submission of the pre-qualification bids February 2nd, 2015 and the public opening follows immediately thereafter in the Council Chamber of the University by 1.00pm on Monday 2nd February 2015. The envelopes should be wax-sealed and marked with the project name at the top right corner and addressed to: The Registrar Nnamdi Azikiwe University not later than 12.00 noon on 2nd February 2015,
Bidders or their representatives and interested members of the public are by this notice invited to attend the bid opening sessions on the stated dates, time and venue.
Nothing in this advertisement shall be construed to be a commitment on the part of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University.

Please note that only contractors who have executed single similar projects of value above N80.0million for items (i), (ii) and (vii); and N200.0miilion for items (iii), (iv), (v) Projects respectively can apply.
