Expression of Interest
WaterAid is a UK registered international charity dedicated to the provision of safe water, sanitation and hygiene to the world’s poorest people. We support local organisations to manage low cost, sustainable projects and also provide policy support to secure the right of poor people to safe water and sanitation services across the world.
WaterAid has worked in Nigeria since 1996 and partners with the government and people of Nigeria to develop sustainable access to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene. We currently implement our programmes in 6 states – Benue, Jigawa, Plateau, Bauchi, Ekiti and Enugu State. We continue to utilize and strengthen local capacity to adequately provide quality technical assistance for water, hygiene and sanitation delivery and development in Nigeria.
Towards our programme implementation for the current year, WaterAid Nigeria hereby invites eligible companies to apply for pre qualification as contractors for the construction / rehabilitation of boreholes and institutional latrines in Sule Tankarkar, Gumel, Maigatari and Kaugama Local Government Areas of Jigawa state. The engagement shall be an annual contract and shall be renewable at the end of each year based on performance.
Pre-qualification requirements:
Interested companies are required to submit the following;
(a) Certificate of Incorporation as a company in Nigeria issued by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
(b) Documentary evidence describing similar assignments with verifiable proof, including years of experience.
(c) Detailed company profile providing information on office location, staff strength and equipment capacity.
(d) Evidence of financial capability. Submission and Closing Date:
Two copies of the documents in a sealed envelope and clearly marked “Pre-qualification Documents” written at the top right hand side of the envelope should be submitted to:

The sealed envelope should be submitted at the above address not later than 12 noon on 26th December, 2014
Late submission will not be accepted.

- WaterAid reserves the right to reject any or all the submissions which do not meet the requirements as specified.
- The evaluation of the received documents shall be strictly based on the requirements as specified above
- Please note that only qualified companies shall be notified at the end of the exercise.
