Public Display Exercise on the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of the Proposed Great Green Wall Programme in Borno State, Jigawa State and Yobe State of Nigeria by National Agency for Great Green Wall
In accordance with the provisions of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Act Cap E12 LFN 2004, which makes it mandatory for proponents of all new major development activities to carryout Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of their proposed projects, the Federal Ministry of Environment hereby announces a twenty one (21) working days Public Notice for information and comments on the Draft EIA Report submitted by National Agency for Great Green Wall.

Project Description:
The proposed project involves the establishment of a shelter belt of trees along a specified corridor in (20) twenty localities within Borno, Yobe and Jigawa States. The project activities will include Site selection, Tree species selection, Afforestation mode, Soil preparation and planting, Plantation Tending, Drilling of borehole and construction of Irrigation canal.

Date: 28th May – 25th June, 20l5.
Time: 8:00am – 4:00pm Daily
All comments received should be forwarded to the Hon. Minister, Federal Ministry of Environment on or before 2nd July, 2015.
