Invitation for Prequalification and Tender for of Various Facilities for the Take-Off, of the Sponsored Institute of Maritime Studies, Niger Delta University
Reputable contractors and suppliers are hereby invited to submit tenders for the supply of furniture, equipment and books and the upgrade of existing facilities in the main campus of the University to be funded by the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) for the take-off of the PGD Programmes in 2013.
A. Brief Description of the Works
The projects shall consists of the upgrade of existing office and lecture hall accommodation which shall include civil, electrical and mechanical works, the supply of furniture and equipment for the offices and lecture halls, the supply of vehicles and library books and furniture. Other details are as fully described in the tender documents.

(d) Supply of Administrative Vehicles
(e) Supply of Classroom Furniture And Equipment
B. Prequalification Criteria
Interested companies are requested to submit the following documents/information with verifiable evidences for assessment/consideration
i. Certificate of incorporation
ii. Company profile and organisational structure
iii. Current tax clearance
iv. VAT registration certificate and evidence of remittance
v. Evidence of registration as a contractor with the University
vi. Evidence of registration with the Bayelsa state Ministry of Works (optional)
vii. Company’s audited account for the last three years from a registered accounting firm.
viii. Letter of financial capability from company’s bankers
ix. List of similar projects previously/currently undertaken including letter of awards, completion certificates, period of construction and projects costs.
x. List/type of construction equipment including whether the equipment are owned or leased; for owned equipment evidenced ownership shall be required.
xi. Proposed project execution strategy (mandatory)

Collection of Prequalification and Tender Documents
Interested contractors are required to pay a non-refundable processing fee (bank draft) of N75,000.00 (Seventy-Five Thousand Naira Only), at the Bursary Department of the University. The drafts should be made payable to The Bursar, Niger Delta University, Wilberforce Island. A receipt shall be issued which will then enable the bidder pick up bid documents at the office of The Director, Physical Planning, Niger Delta University between the hours of 9.00a.m and 3.00pm., from the date of this publication.
D. Submission of Documents
All submissions are required to be neatly packaged in binders and in a sealed envelope marked “Tender for…….” (as appropriate) and deposited in the office of The Registrar, Niger Delta University, not later than 4.00pm each day as from Wednesday 4th September 2013 till Tuesday 17th September 2013.
E. General/Special Information
- Prospective contractors can apply for multiple projects.
- This advertisement shall not be construed as a commitment on the part of the University nor shall it entitle the prospective contractor to make claim whatsoever and/or seek any indemnity from the University.
- Failure to comply with any instruction above or to prov.de any of the listed documents will automatically result in disqualification.
- Late Submission will not be entertained under any circumstances.
