Introduction;
The Clinton health Access Initiative (CHAI) invites interested and capable organizations to submit proposals for the provision of logistics support for healthcare worker training events and clinical attachment in the following states: Kano, Kaduna and Katsina. Background:
Maternal and neonatal mortality rank among the most important of causes of avoidable deaths globally. About 99% of maternal deaths occur in developing countries with Nigeria being the second largest contributor behind India with a maternal mortality ratio of 576 per 100,000 live births. Simple and known interventions can prevent most of these deaths and dramatically improve maternal and neonatal health overall. Solving maternal and newborn mortality requires better management and organization of the health system as it relates to pregnant women, at the birth process and the creation of a proper mentoring system.
Objective
Implement a mentoring approach which will be used to train HCWs on the early identification of maternal and newborn complications, immediate life-saving actions and prompt referral to the nearest hospital for advanced care.

(ii) Event Management Support
(iii) Training impact assessment
(iv) Creation of trainee database
(v) Coordination
(vi) Monitoring and Reporting
(vii) Resources management

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST:
Consequently, CHAI is inviting organisations to submit their proposals to provide logistics support for the training and clinical attachment of health workers in the three states. Interested (Organisations are required to email fabdullahi@clintonhealthaccess.org. copy ofasawe@clintonhealthaccess.org to request a copy of the full RFP
In addition, organizations should send the following:
- Organizational profile
- Evidence of executing similar work previously
Expressions of interest received will be reviewed in line with CHAI’s values and principles and those which meet criteria for selection will be contacted.
CLOSING DATE
Only proposals of interest received by December, 2, 2014 will be considered.
