Request For Expression Of Interest (Eoi)
The Cross River State Government (CRSG) hereby requests for expression of interest from prospective investors with respect to the part-divestment (by CRSG) and management of the Obudu Cattle Ranch Cluster comprising five strategic business units, collectively operating under the brand name of Obudu Cattle Ranch. This launch is aimed at procuring coreinvestor-manager(s) who will own equity stakes, operate and by so doing, transform the facility into a more commercially viable enterprise with the highest sense of corporate governance. The private sector partners expected to have verifiable experience in managing hospitality operations in exclusive and unique locations, deploy sustainable private finance to the project and reposition the Ranch as a highly sought-after tourism destination in Nigeria and the sub-region.
Obudu Cattle Ranch is located in the north eastern part of Cross River State, 65km from Obudu town and 378km from Calabar, the state capital. The ranch sits on the Obudu Plateau, on the Oshie ridge of the Sankwala Mountains, about 5,200 feet above sea level. The cool temperate climate at the Ranch as well as the array of grassland and mountain forests with captivating scenery pitches the facility as an excellent tourist/holiday destination. Key strategic units in the Ranch are: (i) Obudu Mountain Resort – (210 bed spaces); (ii) Mountain Cable Car – 30x passenger gondolas capable of transporting 480 passengers per hour in one direction(first of its kind in Nigeria and West Africa); (iii) Fully equipped& functional Bebi Airstrip – first of its kind in Nigeria located at about 45km from the resort; (iv) Obudu Mountain Water Parks (features a competition-sized pool suitable for leisure and sporting activities); (v) Utanga Safari Lodge and Wildlife Park – Low budget accommodation with 108 rooms (252 bed spaces) and opportunity for game viewing; (vi) fully equipped 400 capacity conference hall;(vii)Obudu Mountain Facility Management & Medicals and, (viii) Presidential lodge/retreat facility.

Interested parties should respond to this invitation by forwarding in advance via email a capability statement (one page) to ocrrestructuring@dunnlorenmerrifield.com ( copying: ntamu2002@yahoo.com ) and the following physical submission:(i) company profile and background including ownership structure and management team; (ii) experience in the hospitality industry, local or international;(iii) investment rationale, (iv) evidence of financial capacity to invest and run the facility’s operations;(v) evidence of operational and technical abilities to manage the facility;(vi) evidence of tax payment for the past three years (for local investors) as well as any other relevant information relating to the proposed transaction to:
