Accreditation of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Community-Based Organisations (CBOs) Faith-Based Organisations (FBOs), and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) as Election Observers for the Delta State 2014 Local Government General Elections Scheduled for October 25, 2014

Expression of Interest

1.      Preamble

The Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC) invites applications for accreditation of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), Community-based Organisations CBOs), Faith-based Organisations (FBOs), and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) as election observers for the 2014 Local Government General Elections which have been scheduled for October 25, 2014. The registered objects of all interested organisations must include advocacy in the areas of Democracy, Good Governance and Electoral Integrity

2.       Qualifications/Guide to Accreditation

An application must include the following:

a.       Application on the organisation’s letter-head.

b.      Evidence of statutory registration with CAC or other authorised bodies.

c.       Evidence of experience in electoral observation, to wit.

i.       Letter of Engagement issued by DSIEC or any other EMB(s) in Nigeria.

ii.       Report(s) of previous engagement(s).

iii.     Any other relevant documents.

d.       Statement on non-affiliation with any Political Party/Association, Candidate or Aspirant.

e.      Evidence of Local Government Area presence stating the address(es).

f.       List of nominated or sponsored officials, their email addresses and telephone numbers.

g.       At least two Trustees or Authorised Officers must subscribe to an oath/affidavit verifying the facts contained in the application and documents   submitted, including undertaking to abide by the regulations of DSIEC.

3. Date & Address for Submission

Applications should be addressed to the Chairman, Delta State Independent

Electoral Commission, Km 8, Asaba/Onitsha Expressway, Asaba to reach him on

or before 8^th August 2014.

The list of successful organisations will be published in national dailies and DSIEC’s Website: www.dsiec.gov.ng

4.   Note:    Submission of application is not an automatic qualification and DSIEC reserves the right to determine organisations to accord accreditation.

Organisations which had sent in applications before now, and are still interested in partnering with us, are please advised to respond to this advertisement
