Background
- Background Mercy Corps seeks the services of Audit firm based in Nigeria (preferably with International Affiliation) to express interest in becoming the statutory auditor to Mercy Corps Ltd/GTE herein referred to as Mercy Corps.
2. Audit Objectives and Scope
2.1 The audit will examine the fund accountability statement provided by Mercy Corps for its inception period of operations
2.2 Express an opinion on whether the fund accountability statement for Mercy Corps presents fairly, in all material respects, revenues received, costs incurred, and commodities directly procured or provided by Mercy Corps for the period audited in conformity with the terms of its donor regulations and generally accepted accounting principles or other comprehensive basis of accounting (including the cash receipts and disbursements basis, and modifications of cash basis).
2.3 Evaluate MercyCorps internal control related to its program, assess control risk, and identify including material weaknesses.
2.4 Perform tests to determine whether MercyCorps complied, in all material respects, with agreement terms with its donors and all applicable laws.
3. Experience
Interested Audit firm must be able to prove;
3.1 Its prior experience in auditing international nongovernmental organizations
3.2 Understanding of donor regulations such as USAID, DFID and other public donors
3.3 Understanding of legal frameworks and regulations guiding the operations of non-governmental organizations in Nigeria
