Expression of interest (EOI) for MNCH2 Operations Research
The Maternal Newborn and Child Health Programme (MNCH2) is a UK government funded five year country led programme which aims to reduce maternal and child mortality in northern Nigeria. The programme, which runs from 2014 to 2019, is being implemented in six states in northern Nigeria namely Jigawa, Kaduna, Katsina, Kano, Yobe and Zamfara.
Operational research component of MNCH2 will conduct targeted studies that focus on specific research questions, which will guide the design and implementation of programme interventions. The OR approach of the MNCH2 programme will provide high quality, high impact research that is of immediate practical relevance to the programme as well as to other MNCH programme implementers. The findings from the Operations Research studies are expected to continuously guide implementation of programme interventions.
MNCH2 is looking for organisations experienced in operations research to work with the programme to implement this activity component.
To qualify, institutions or research organizations must have the following skills/requirements;
- Fulfil all requirements to carry-out consultancy services in Nigeria
- Previously conducted health related operations research studies
- Ability to implement research according to protocol, analyze and present findings in an agreeable format
- Meet deliverables within the agreed timelines
- Willingness to work in resource scarce environment
- Familiarity with the State and Local government health systems in Nigeria
- Excellent writing and presentation skills
